  • Wednesday, May 8th – Students will be producing a video entitled What Catholic Education Means to Me!
  • Friday, May 10th – Fun Faith Day – an afternoon filled with fun faith activities – decorating prayer rocks, completing a school mural entitled Growing Together in Faith, stories, treats, music. The program will end with the screening of the What Catholic Education Means to Me! video produced earlier in the week.

  • Monday, May 6th – Christ The King, St. Elizabeth and Holy Family Catholic Schools will take part in Music Monday at Holy Family Catholic School at 12:00 p.m. Following the
    performance they will Skype with a school in Calgary to perform together.
  • Tuesday, May 7th – Special Constable Randi Hull will talk with the FDK classes about Stranger Danger.
  • Wednesday, May 8th – Grade 4 classes will create ‘thank you’ cards for Nurses’ Appreciation Week. Two students will go to the Sydenham Campus of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to present the cards to nurses.
  • Thursday May 9th – Catholic Education Week Liturgy in the gym at 12:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 7th and Wednesday, May 8th – students in various classrooms will be praying the rosary, led by members of the Holy Family parish.
  • Friday, May 10th – FDK classes will visit the local library at 2:00 p.m.

  • May 8th – Grade 3-4 and 4-5 students will travel to Ska Nah Doht as part of an environmental field study that integrates Aboriginal teachings, in order to help our students learn more about the First Nations, Métis and Inuit cultures in our communities.
  • May 8th – Grade 1 students will invite mothers and grandmothers to a tea in the library.
  • May 9th – Families are invited to our School Council’s Cinco De Mayo Family Dance and Silent Auction, being held in the school gym for 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Admission is free. Classes will perform special dances. Refreshments, games, prizes, a photo booth and piñatas are some of the special attractions.

  • At UCC, Tuesday, May 7th at UCC – Gwynne Dyer will speak to students and staff at 8:30 a.m. and again at 9:45 a.m. in the UCC Theatre. Mr. Dyer has worked as a freelance journalist, columnist, broadcaster and lecturer on international affairs for more than 20 years.
  • Friday, May 10th – UCC Print Show – First exhibition of its kind opens at the Thames Art Gallery, featuring the eclectic works of 20 UCC students. Catered opening reception begins at 7:00 p.m., and will include the selection of a People’s Choice Award.
