Last night, our Junior Girls Volleyball team took on the Saint Pats Fighting Irish in the Lancer Dome and won their semifinal match in three straight sets with strong defense and powerful net play. Shoutout to Vienna, as our lucky charm, for her stellar serves and fantastic defense.
The girls head to CKSS on Friday for the LKSSAA final. Go Lancers!
The senior girls volleyball defeated Northern last night here at UCC in the LKSSAA semi finals. The girls swept the Vikings in three dominating sets, advancing to the LKSSAA finals. MVP of the night was Zaveri B., for her outstanding defence and strong serves. The team takes on CKSS here at UCC THIS FRIDAY at 7:00 pm. Come out and bring the noise to cheer your girls on to victory.
The girls ice hockey team took down the CK hawks last night 2-1 in their final regular season game. Leah J., opened up the scoring for the Lancers. After CK tied it up Kate K., sniped one from the slot to put the Lancers back on top. The Lancers held on the rest of the way for the win with some solid D play. Grace G., recorded the win and Layla O., was player of the game. The Lancers start playoffs next week. Goooo Lancers!
Yesterday 22 members of the wrestling squad competed in the LKSSAA finals. 16 placed in the top 4 which qualifies them to compete at SWOSSAA next Thursday in Windsor. Gold medals were locked up by Emmanuella C., Paige S., Anthony P., Cameroon V., and Dean R. Silver medals were snatched up by Anna K., Landyn B., Matt L., and Zack C. Bronze medals were brought home by Ayden B., Chris D., and Hunter H. Finishing 4th also earning the right to go to SWOSSAA were Lydia M., Austin K., Ben E., and Logan S. Some great fights showed the UCC Lancers victorious over some of the wolves, titans, irish, vikings, eagles and red lancers! Out of 7 schools that attended, UCC placed 4th overall. Our boys team placed 3rd, only trailing second place St. Pats by 4 points. Our girls team placed 4th, just behind 3rd place LCCVI by 1 point. Way to go team! The coaching staff are very proud of you for your awesome effort in such a relentless and unforgiving sport!
