The UCC Golf team enjoyed a successful LKSSAA tournament on Tuesday. The boys team finished second overall, earning a spot in next weeks SWOSSAA tournament in Essex. The team was lead by the reigning, defending Heavyweight Champion of LKSSAA boys golf, Heath B., who fired a 2-under round of 70 to win the event for the 2nd year in a row.

Cash K., Camden A., and Elliot C., also played some good golf to secure the 2nd place finish.

On the girls side, Haylee Crawley finished in 2nd place and in her first competitive tournament, Sawyer S., finished in 7th place. Both Haylee and Sawyer move on to SWOSSAA next week!

Your rugby 7s team drove up to Bruce to compete in Tiverton yesterday.

The junior team had a stellar first showing as 7s rookies, going undefeated. Shout outs to Alexa “Gordie” H., Audrey “Pinky” D., and Parker “Prancer” C., for their unrelenting yards gained. The whole team contributed to a fantastic first showing.

The senior squad showed up and took control. Though they fell short in the final game, they had the best showing in UCC’s history at this tournament. Emanuella C., showed the other teams who’s boss, with a strong day. Shout out to Ashlyn B., and Kaija B., for their strength and ability to play all positions for us yesterday.

You will see your lancers play again before thanksgiving in Grimsby - keep up the great work lancers!

Today is the day, Lancers! The Terry Fox Walk will take place during period 4. Classes will be called down by building after taking attendance and are asked to head toward the exit by Guidance. Here teachers will drop off any donations that were collected over the course of the week and then head on the community walk, where there will be teachers and Student Council members with name tags to make sure the walk goes smoothly. Classes are asked to walk around the track after finishing the route. One final reminder that students who did not bring in a form are to head to the Lancer Annex after attendance, and they will be directed to the track by staff. To those who will be out in the community, remember that you are representing UCC and everything the crest entails, so be on your best behaviour and enjoy the walk!

The Lancer baseball team played an excellent all around road game on Thursday-defeating arch nemesis Wallaceburg 8-4. Others contributing key hits and excellent glove work in the win were: Lucas B., Luca R., Dominic R., Matt J., Owen D., Griff V., and Ethan T. Next game is Monday against our Catholic Brothers to the North St. Patrick's.
