Are you ready to get caught "GREEN HANDED?"  Anyone interested in helping "green" our school community is invited to the Environmental Club!  This club will run on Thursdays, after school in the greenhouse!  Bring a friend! (20)

KMHA is looking for student volunteers to help out on the ice with the Pee-Wee division.  If you love hockey and need volunteer hours, please see Mr. Clarke in room 109 for details. (21)

Hey Trivia buffs - there is an information meeting for the UCC Reach for the Top Competitive Trivia Team. If you know a lot of stuff, come by Room 605 afterschool on Thursday. New and old members are welcome. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Broadbent or Mr. Estoesta. (20)

Attention graduating students:  Please be reminded that it is your responsibility to apply for scholarships, awards and bursaries. Go to UCC's website under 'students” then ‘guidance’ to find the list of scholarships, awards, and bursaries.  There will be links to find more information including eligibility and deadlines for application. (20)

Would you like to travel and experience the culture of another country?  Would you like to go to school in another country for a year?  If you answered "Yes" to either of these questions, then maybe the Rotary Exchange Program is for you.  Grade 9, 10 and 11 students are invited to attend an information presentation on Tuesday, September 25 during Period 4. You must sign up in the blue binder on Mrs. Moore's desk in Guidance by at least one day before the presentation.  For more information, see Mr. Estoesta in Guidance. (20)

The Forum for Young Canadians welcomes over 100 students, aged 15-19 years old, to Ottawa immersing them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs.  Participants meet and interact with Senators, Members of Parliament and other decision-makers who impact their daily lives.  For more information, go to www.forum.ca or see Mr. Estoesta in Guidance. Are you looking to get involved but aren't sure what the club is for you? Pedgape is starting on Monday and it is the perfect place for you! Pedagape works at making the halls of UCC and the sidewalks of Chatham Kent a better place by doing Christ Like Actions of love. Sticky note campaign, milk bag mats, sidewalk chalk and our annual community Christmas dinner, are a few events we do. It all starts Monday in room 919, the art room. Come on out and bring a friend. See Mr. Dula, Deacon Raymond or Mrs. Fernandes if you have any questions (21)

Attention grade 12 students:  Don't forget to sign up for college and/or university presentations and sign up at least the day before the presentations.  Fanshawe College will be here Friday during period 4.  Also, there is an addition to the Fall Visit schedule.  Georgian College will be here on Wednesday, September 26th during period 2. 

There are 2 presentations on Monday, September 24th.  Universtiy of Windsor will present at 9:40am and the University of Guelph will present at 1:05pm.  Sign up in Guidance! (20)

Listen up Lancers! First Dressdown Day is Tues. Sept. 25th. That's right, First Dressdown Day of the year is is this Tuesday! Tickets for Dressdown Day will be sold in the new part of the cafe tomorrow and Monday during both lunches for $1.

You must have your Dressdown Day ticket to present to your teachers at the beginning of each class. (20)

The jr.boys football team introduced themselves to the Windsor Essex jr. Football league last night when they played a historic season opening game against the Sandwich Sabres in LaSalle.

The Lancers announced themselves with a convincing 41 to 2 victory.

 Tyler Shumanski and Logan Stefina got things started with touchdowns each in the first quarter. Darian Hadden ran one in during the 2nd quarter and threw a 2 point conversion pass to Cody Boulley. The 2nd half was all Lancers as well. Shumanski added another, Brett Wegrzyn scampered in for a major from 30 yards out and Lucas Rupert fished the Sabres off with a 92 yard pick 6 in the 4th quarter. Jude Pearson and Logan Stefina lead the way on defence with 6 tackles a piece. Braydon Charbonneau and Ethan Chenier Lane had 5. The Lancer D picked off 4 passes. Rupert with 2, Stefina 1, Cam Sanderson added the 4th . Brandon Benoit had 71 yards on the ground and Hadden bulldozed his way for 55 on 5 carries.

The Lancers take on the Father John Brennan Cardinals next Wednesday. in Windsor. Go Blue. (20_
