The UCC Junior Boys soccer team took down Sarnia Northern last night 1-0 at home. Reegan “The Iceman” McCracken was at it again, scoring for a fifth straight game. Ashton D., recorded his third shut out of the season, which included a double save in the goal line at the end of the game. Fisher, Alex, Ugo and Sylar stood firm at the back to keep Northern off the scoresheet. The Lancers take on St Pats Wednesday with first place on the line. Gooo Lancers!
The UCC baseball team took on Northern yesterday, looking to continue their undefeated season and take over first place in the division. It was a Cohen Kirkwood bump day, and he went 4 innings of shutout ball with 5 strikeouts, continuing his dominant season on the mound. Adam V., also contributed 2 plus innings of great relief. In terms of hitting, Tiago R., got the bats going with 2 hits and 2 RBI on the day. Adam “Train” V., added another two hits and Brad O., was on on base machine, contributing 3 walks. The boys got out to a 7-1 lead; however, a late rally from Northern resulted in UCC’s first loss of the season. UCC looks to end the season on a winning note against LCCVI in Petrolia on Thursday.
