How can we apply Jesus’ teachings to our lives as high school students? Here are a few ideas:
Stand up to bullying: Kindness means protecting those who are being hurt or excluded.
-
Offer a helping hand: Whether it's helping someone with their homework or simply offering a listening ear, small acts of service can make a big difference.
-
Be inclusive: Make an effort to get to know people who are different from you. You might be surprised by the connections you make.
-
Speak kindly: Avoid gossip and hurtful words. Choose your words carefully and use them to build others up, not tear them down.
Kindness isn't always easy. We all have moments where we struggle to be compassionate. But by reflecting on Jesus' teachings and making a conscious effort to practice kindness in our daily lives, we can create a more positive and supportive environment for ourselves and everyone around us. Let's strive to make kindness a habit, not just an occasional act.
Need to plan ahead? Pink shirt day is coming up next week. Wear your pink shirts on Wednesday, Feb 26 to show your commitment to spreading kindness and making a difference. Remember, kindness is always in fashion!
Today’s kindness thought is…When things seem dark know that you are the light for someone.
We are excited to announce a wonderful opportunity to support Andrea C., one of our incredible students here at Ursuline College. Andrea, a 17-year-old with Angelman's syndrome, is working toward acquiring a pediatric bicycle that will allow her to ride alongside her brothers and sister. This bike would greatly improve her mobility and independence, making her dreams of biking with her family a reality.
To help Andrea, we are collecting aluminum tabs, which will be donated to support the purchase of her specialized bike. Every tab you contribute brings Andrea one step closer to her goal! You will find containers throughout the school where you can drop your tabs, including the cafeteria, Lancer Annex, main office, all staff rooms, guidance, and the LifeSkills room.
Let’s come together as a community to help Andrea achieve this exciting milestone and give her the chance to share joyful moments with her family. Thank you for your support!

The senior girls volleyball team headed to Holy Names last night to compete in the SWOSSAA finals. The girls came out swinging, up 8-1 in the first set. The team had a dominate performance and captured the SWOSSAA championship in 4 sets for the first time in 11 years. Every single member of the team contributed in some way to the team's success. The girls head to OFSSAA in two weeks in Burlington. The team would like to give a special thanks to all the staff and students for making the trip to support the girls and for their enthusiastic cheering and spirit. Congratulations ladies!
The UCC girls hockey team made their way to Sarnia yesterday to take on St. Pats in the LKSSAA semifinals. Jolee "Shin Pad" C., got the Lancers going by dancing through the St. Pat's defense and going top Shelf on the shell shocked St.Pat's keeper. Jacqueline D., would put the Lancers up 2-0 on a beautiful tip on a point shot from Dalia B. The Lancers played great D the rest of the way to see out the 2-0 win. Grace G., got the win and the shut out. Tessa "GTA" V., was player of the game for the Lady Lancers. The lancers take on their cross town rivals CK next Tuesday for the LKSSAA championship. GOooooooo Lancers!!!
Yesterday 12 wrestlers fought to determine who was the best grappler in South Western Ontario at SWOSSAA which was held at Lambton College.
Many personal successes were had. Worth mentioning was the story of Dean R. Dean had two bones in his leg broken in November and battled back to recovery. After Christmas, Dean stepped onto the mat for the 1st time this season. His first tournament was last Tuesday at LKSSAA where he incredibly placed 4th in a very tough category. Yesterday he was beating the WECSSAA silver medalist before losing in the last few 2nds due to time. Anthony P., was in the most stacked weight class of the tournament. His matches were some of the most exciting ones to watch. Anthony lost to the eventual Gold and Bronze medalists. Both Dean and Anthony placed in the top 6. Ayden brown dug down deep and secured a hold on yet another Gold medal. Paige Srokosz was a beast on the mat as she emphatically took her opponent to the mat for a pin in the first few seconds of her Gold medal match. Hunter H., battled and also earned a Gold. Emmanuella Caleb and Aurora W., had some awesome matches and both pinned down silver medals.
Matt L., and Julianna D., had some great matches and should be very proud of their performances that led them to grabbing bronze medals.
Landyn B., had some great matches and was winning against both the 2nd and 3rd place finishers but couldn't hold on to the lead and ended with a 4th place finish. Our gold and silver medalists have qualified for OFSAA in Kitchener on March 3-5. Way to go to all the wrestlers that competed in one of the most gruelling sports. The coaching team is very proud of everyone!
