Tryouts for Boys & Girls Curling will start the week. Monday Nov. 11 & Friday Nov. 15 at the Chatham Granite Club. If interested sign the sheet by the gym door and make your way over to tryouts. If you need directions please see Mr. Denomy.
Yearbook club will meet today at 2:30 in the communications room. If you belong to a club be ready to have your photo taken tomorrow. Club photos will be taken in the new caf tomorrow. Check in with the teacher running your club for times.
The Senior Boys Volleyball Team started off Championship Weekend in style knocking off the CKSS Hawks to win the LKSSAA title. The team would like to thank the many fans who never gave up on the slow starting Lancers and cheered us on to victory. Composure and experience prevailed for the balanced Lancers who used many attackers and some great defense to gain the win. The Lancers will travel to Holy Names Tuesday at 6pm to look to win the SWOSSAA title and earn the berth to OFSAA. There will be a fan bus leaving at 4:15 Tuesday if there is enough interest. Sign up in the PE office today and get a permission form. The first 40 fans to hand in your permission form and pay $5 you will gain a seat. You will also be required to pay the gate fee at Holy Names; which will likely be $2 for students.
If you’re in need of volunteer hours, several new opportunities have come up to help agencies for the Christmas season. The Chatham-Kent Chapter of the I.O.D.E. is looking for help with their Christmas house tour on Nov.16 and 17th. As well, the Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to help with their annual Christmas Kettle campaign – hours and dates are flexible. See Mr. Matteis in guidance if you’d like to volunteer for these groups!

The Jr Girls Basketball team captured the LKSAA Championship in a convincing win vs The St Pats Fighting Irish 69-52 Saturday. Sophia M scored 16 while playing amazing defence vs their top scorer and with stifling help from her teammates was able to effectively shut down and frustrate St. Pat's top scorer. Marissa B kicked in 25 points, Sam L with 9, Abby B with 7 and Abby D with 4 and multiple other players adding baskets. Jordan N and Jocelyn S worked hard on the glass. Good luck to the girls as they now travel to Holy Names on Wednesday for the SWOSSA championship game.
A reminder that the Boys Hockey tryouts start this Wednesday Nov.13th at Memorial Arena at 2:30. You can bring equipment to the office in the gym that morning for storage. You need to be sure you signed up on the list outside the gym door to be allowed to step on the ice. If you can not attend the first tryout please see Mr. McCabe, Mr. Clarke or Mr. Mallette.
