God says to give thanks in everything. That doesn’t mean you need to give thanks FOR everything. You don’t need to give thanks FOR that bad day. Whatever it is – you are not to give thanks FOR the difficulties, but rather IN the difficulties. Giving thanks IN everything shows a heart of faith that God is bigger than the difficulties and that He can use them, if you approach Him with the right heart and spirit, for your good and His glory.

Last week our Rugby 7s team travelled down the highway to Clinton to compete in their second tournament of the year. It was a tough day of competition, and these athletes showed a strong perseverance and sense of team throughout the day. Judine V came through with some huge tackles, and Kaija B was jumping into rucks with strength all day. Anna K had a great showing, chasing an opposing player down 3/4 of the way down the field to tackle her right before the try line. They will be coming out strong next week for their tournament in Scarborough.

Congratulations to all UCC Lancer tennis players as they battled the cool temperatures and slippery playing surface as they competed at a wet LKSSAA finals in Sarnia yesterday. Our boys doubles teams excelled with both teams qualifying for SWOSSA, Owen K and Aiden A captured 4th place and Tom and Josh B sailed through the field capturing first place with a 8-3 win in the final match. Samantha L dominated the yet another girls singles division winning in the finals 8-0; she also moves on to SWOSSA next week. A shout out to Nifemi K for a well played day in a tough boys singles draw. Good luck to our mixed doubles team of Dillon and McKay as they travel back to Sarnia today to complete their matches which were suspended due to rain.
