Attention Grade 12 Students!

Are you thinking about applying to college? Then you need to come to guidance to pick up a permission slip to attend the 2024 College Information Program at St. Clair College, Chatham Campus on October 7th where representatives rom colleges across Ontario will be there to answer you questions. Bus leaves the Pines at 11:45 and returns at 1:45!

 

Did you hear the wicked news?!!! We're doing another musical!!!! Be sure to audition for The Descendants. Audition information can be found on the QR codes on posters all around the school. Go see Ms. Magliaro in room 205 during both lunches tomorrow to find out more!

 

Are you a girl in grade 9 or 10 and looking to build your confidence? Consider joining the Love Yourself Girls Group on Wednesdays with Amanda starting October 9th. The UCC golf team competed in the LKSSAA championship last Thursday. On the boys side, Heath Boyko lead the charge, finishing 1st overall in the boys division. Shoutout to Everett PIckering for a top 5 finish as well. The boys team moves on to SWOSSAA tomorrow. Good luck to Heath, Everett, Cash Kiriakopoulous and Adam Vsetula

 

In the girls division, the dynamic duo of Hannah "Wardrobe change" Butzer and Haylee "I wish I was a cow" Crawley finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Both Hannah and Haylee play tomorrow at SWOSSAA as well.

 

Lancer Brew is back. Coffee, Iced Coffee, Pumpkin Spice, Hot Chocolate, Tea, Pink Lemonade, and Chocolate Chip cookies. Take your change out and support the Life Skills program by ordering from Lancer Brew. Staff and students, find order forms outside your First Period Class and place your orders. Life Skills students will collect and deliver Lancer Brew items to you personally during first period class.

 

Attention to anyone that loves being on, in or around the theatre stage ! tomorrow is the kick off to UCCs 2024-2025 theatre season. join us in this years Drama Olympics, an event for all drama kids to get together, have fun, make some memories and see old and new friends! use the QR code on the posters in the hall to sign up !

this new innovative SHSM involves several areas for agriculture (farm to table)

This meeting is the first of several and we are currently targeting the Hospitality students for information on this new SHSM.

Any Current gr 11 hospitality students taking it this semester or next semester are welcome to get more information on this great opportunity.

Please come to room 811 on Thurday Oct. 3 during the grade 11 lunch.

"Congratulations to the senior girls basketball team for their performance in this past weekend's tournament. The highlight of the weekend was a dominant 61-37 victory, with Morghan S., leading the way with 13 points and Kayce F., adding 12. A special shoutout to Katey K., for her tough defensive play, making use of all her fouls to challenge the opposition. The girls will be back in action this Tuesday at home against LCCVI. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. — come out and watch the girls WORK"

Whether you’re working on English homework, catching up on reading, or just want to improve your reading, writing, and grammar skills, come on by! Our 7’s rugby teams had their first tournament last Thursday in Tiverton. They had a great first showing and broke even for the day. Success was shared team wide. Go go Jo Jo V., ripped up the field scoring her first try of the season. Akira Nike L., showcased her wheels throughout the day, and Tina Taco T., showed precision and grit. Great work Lancers!

 

Attention all staff and students, if you have not yet heard, this Friday, October 4th will be our annual Terry Fox Walk during 4th period. All period 4 teachers will receive walking excursion forms at some point today to distribute to their students. Please return these forms to your period 4 teachers by Friday in order to participate in the community walk. Additionally, bring in a toonie for Terry (or more if you wish) to your period 4 teacher as well to help support cancer research.

 

The jr girls basketball team reached their 3rd championship game in as many tournaments but couldn’t come away with the win. They fell to a very strong team from Brantford 49-35. The girls played hard until the final buzzer but had trouble getting past their opponents strong defence. They play tomorrow at home against Petrolia and Thursday on the road against St Pats.
