The organizers of the Chatham Terry Fox Run  are looking for volunteers to marshal the course and work the water stations  8am - 12 noon on Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Fieldhouse by the mini soccer fields on Courthouse Lane. Community hours will be given.  Volunteers are asked to sign up if they can help on the form located outside the gym doors. The Study and Go Abroad Fair is Canada's largest international university and student travel expo.  This free student expo offers students a unique opportunity to learn about undergraduate degrees, certificate and diploma programs around the world.  The expo also includes a Student Travel Zone with organizations offering internships, volunteer programs, work abroad and language travel.  The fair is on Sunday, October 14 from 1-5 pm at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Attention Students:  Volunteers are needed!  Earn your volunteer hours at TJ Stables by assisting children with special needs. Acceptional Riders Therapeutic horseback riding will be starting on Monday, September 17th from 6pm-8pm. There will be a weight room orientation directly after school today for anyone new to the school OR weight room.  ALL are welcome.  

Also, the weight room will be open Mon through Thurs each week during the school year from 230-4 pm. Proper fitness attire required please.

UCC Wellness Committee Welcomes all new students to UCC as well as those returning for another year. The UCC wellness committee meets every other week to promote wellbeing and plan activities throughout the school year. Our main event is the daily activities for the Mental Health week in May. If you are interested in joining the committee, please sign up on one of the two sign-up sheets. The sign-up sheets are located by the wellbeing bulletin board next to the main office and Outside the cafeteria beside the chalk board. Our first meeting will be on Monday September 17 in room 104, during your lunch period. We look forward to having you join our exciting committee. (12)

All transfer athletes who received forms from Mr Denomy to sign have to have them in today.  The forms are due to the transfer committee Thursday. (12)

  Attention graduates:   The Loran Scholars application period is now open.  These university scholarships are granted on the basis of character, service and leadership.  If you are a person with originality, drive and have made things better for other people,  then go to loranscholar.ca to fill out an on-line application. You must be planning to attend university next fall and have at least an 85% average. However, these scholarships are not solely based on academic achievement. Completed applications must be submitted to Ms. Webster in Guidance by Wednesday, Oct10th if you are seeking the school's sponsorship.   Students may also apply without sponsorship through the direct pool by Wednesday, Oct 24th .   This scholarship could be worth One Hundred Thousand Dollars! Any guitar players interested in joining the plUCC Guitar Ensemble:  Please come to an audition this Thursday at 2:30 in room 921.  You can play any song you want for the audition. If you can't make it, talk to Mr. Brown. (13)

This is a reminder for all students who have not submitted their dual credit applications.  Tomorrow is the final deadline for dual credit applications.  Please hand in your completed dual credit forms to Rm. 107 immediately. (13)
