It’s one thing to be grateful. It’s another to give thanks. Gratitude is what you feel. Thanksgiving is what you do. Be intentional to thank God for good things in your life.

Student Council would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in our first Terry Fox walk out in the community since before COVID. It was fantastic to see all of you raising money and awareness for such a great cause. An extra special thank you to Mrs. Dunlop’s leadership class, Mr. Mallette’s period 4 class, as well as all the teachers and staff who helped make it work. Lancer Loud, Lancer Proud.

The UCC tennis team took to the courts yesterday for the LKSSAA south tournaments. Congrats to all of those players who participated and a special congrats to players moving on to compete at the LKSSAA finals next week. Samantha L won the girls singles, the Blundy Boys won a tough boys doubles division with Aiden A and Owen K capturing third. In boys singles Nefemi K rallied from behind to place third. Maia D and Colin M move on with a 4th place finish in mixed doubles. 5th place finishers included Theresa B, Tara W, Noah B, Ethan T and Jocalin H. Practices resume today at 4pm. All players are welcome.

The Lancer ball team dropped a heartbreaker for their first loss of the season on Monday, in Sarnia, against their Catholic rivals St. Patrick's. Taking a 12-8 lead into the final inning, the boys surrendered 5 runs to lose 13-12. BUT yesterday afternoon, at Fergie, the team showed considerable resiliency by thoroughly outplaying Undefeated Northern 7-4. Stars of the game were Ethan V with four RBIs, Luke C with 4 dominant innings on the bump-surrendering only one run, and Dryden D with a 3 for 3 day at the DISH. Solid pitching in relief by Jackson K & superb defense by Branden S, down the stretch helped solidify the win.

Megan B paced the senior girls basketball team with 15 points last night, while Sam L chipped in with 8. The Lancers fought hard against a tough CKSS team, losing 52-40.

Our Jr Girls Basketball team continued their winning ways last night with a 77-34 win vs CKSS. The team started off the game struggling to score in the early stages and facing formidable defensive opposition from their opponents. However, as the second half began, the girls displayed a superior defensive performance that disrupted their opponents' rhythm and created turnovers. Their defensive prowess not only bolstered their confidence but also generated numerous scoring opportunities for the team. Lexi H-L and Daphne N led the way with 22 and 21 points but almost all players contributed points in the game. Good luck to the girls as they travel to St Pats this Thursday!
