“Did you know that half of all Canadians will either need blood or know someone who will need blood at some point in their lives? Yet only 4% of Canadians donate blood. Lancers, we can help change that!
If you are a least 17 years old, you too can donate blood to help raise the percentage of Canadian donors and save lives!
You can check your eligibility to donate at bloodcanada.ca. Here, you can also find facts about blood, frequently asked questions, and how to book a donation at a location near you!
Keep an eye out around the school for posters with a QR code, so that you can register as a part of UCC’s team when you donate blood! Let’s do this Lancers, and help save lives one donation at a time!”

In Canada, their search for a stem cell donor may start with family members, but less than 25% of patients find a match within their family. Most of the time, patients must rely on unrelated volunteer donors from a registry, often with a similar ethnic background to increase their chances of finding a match.
If you're over 17 and are in good health, you could be the rare match for a patient in need. Please consider joining the Stem Cell Registry on May 21st here at UCC.
