The UCC Girls Golf team (better known as Hannah and Haylee) competed at the OFSSA championship last week in Windsor. With both girls coming off impressive victories at SWOSSAA, they battled tough weather conditions with Lancer spirit. Over 120 girls competed in the tournament and Hannah and Haylee finished in the top one third of all golfers. Huge congratulations on a great season and an even bigger congratulations to Hannah on an unbelievable 4 years on the UCC Golf team.

 

Art Club will meet tonight in room 920, make sure you have a bus pass. Looking forward to seeing everyone :)

This past weekend, the senior girls basketball team traveled to Waterloo for a fun-filled experience, filled with learning and strong messaging both on and off the court. They faced some of the best teams in the province and gave it their all, showing up for each other every step of the way. Beyond the court, the team bonded over lots of snacks, laughs, and great memories. Well done, girls—way to represent our school with heart, teamwork, and growth!

 

The amazingly talented cast of our musical "Descendants" is reminded to meet in the hallway outside of the theatre after school today for our first rehearsal!!!!

 

The junior boys volleyball team headed to St. Pat's in Sarnia on Friday night to compete in their last tournament of the season. The boys finished first in pool play and swept the semis. Despite missing players, injuries and a late final game, the boys swept CKSS in the finals, winning the tournament. Congratulations boys! A reminder that practice is at 5:30 tonight!

The Junior Boys Soccer team host their playoff semifinals tomorrow night at 4 pm on our field against LCCVI. Come out and support the boys! Gooo Lancers!!!

 

The jr girls basketball team won their own tournament this past weekend by beating St Joe’s out of St Thomas 55-53. After two easy wins the team needed some late game heroics to come away with the championship. Lexi H. L. made a free throw to tie the game with 7 seconds left and then Jessica V., forced a turnover on the next possession to set up a final 5 seconds of excitement. With no timeouts left, Cristelle S., attacked the rim and made a beautiful pass to Lexi for a game winning layup as the final buzzer sounded. Cristelle led the team in scoring with 13 points, Daphne N., had all 12 of her points in the second half and Lexi and Jessica each had 10. The girls play at UCC this Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30.
