Three UCC Reach for the Top competitive trivia teams played in the Lambton-Kent playoffs yesterday afternoon in Sarnia. The Junior Team won their semi-final match to go on to play Sarnia Northern in the final. At the end of the game, the teams were tied at 210 points each. Unfortunately, the UCC team lost the first question tie-breaker. The team, made up of Leanne Burgess, Clarke Denomy, Clare Gillis, Claire Pidduck, Spencer Sarson and Sarah Tuckwell had a great season and will be moving up to the Senior ranks next year. Two Senior UCC teams played in two separate semi-final matches. Unfortunately, only one team advanced to the finals to play Sarnia Northern. In the final match, the team lost by 50 points or 5 questions to a tough Northern squad. Mr. Broadbent and Mr. Estoesta would like to thank the team's students who are graduating and leaving the school, Matt Blondeel, Alex Cha-Simms, Ryan Farrell, Joey Voets, Matthew Bacic, Joni Cogghe, Abbi Cylwa, Tina Dao, Vera Korabline, Cole Murray and Quinn Teague-Cofer for their dedication this year.
