Did you know that Fred Baur, the inventor of Pringles, requested that his ashes be buried in a Pringles can?

Do you like random trivia? If so, the Reach for the Top Competitive Trivia Team just might be for you. Practices will begin this week from 2:30-3:30 in room 605. Grade 9-10 is TONIGHT and Grades 11-12 is on Thursdays.

 

Struggling with science? We’ve got your back! Science help will be available after school in Room 911, Tuesday to Thursday this week, from 2:30 to 3:30. Starting next week, Science Help will run Monday through Thursday every week. These sessions are a great opportunity to get help with homework, prepare for tests, or strengthen your understanding of science topics!

 

Come sing with us! The UCC Choir meets Tuesdays after school in room 921. You know you love singing, so come join this fun group. That's Tuesday in room 921.

 

Think you've got what it takes to own the stage? Your chance is coming!

The Talent Show is officially on its way, and we're on the hunt for the most entertaining, unique, and incredible acts in the school. Can you sing? Dance? Tell jokes that make everyone laugh? Perform mind-blowing magic? Whatever your talent is, we want to see it!

Get your act together, start practicing, and prepare for your moment in the spotlight.

This past weekend, two members of UCC's Model Rocketry Club attended their first launch. Braydyn and Justin both launched the rockets they built last week, with Braydyn flying his on three different engines to earn his first achievement level!

If you missed last week's meeting, never fear, you can come to Room 914 after school on either Wednesday or Thursday this week to build your free rocket then come to our next launch on September 27.

 

The Rainbow Alliance will be starting back up this month. New and previous members, please scan the QR Code on posters found on the info boards and around the school for more details and to join. All are welcome!

 

Do you love acting, directing, stage crew, lighting, sound, or just being part of something amazing? This Thursday after school in Room 816, we’re holding an interest meeting for UCC’s entry in this year’s National Theatre School Drama Festival!

Why join? You’ll be part of a creative, welcoming community, build skills in communication and leadership, and maybe even make some lifelong friendships—all while putting on a production to be proud of.

We need actors, directors, stage managers, lighting, sound technicians, writers and more. Whether you want to be on stage or behind the scenes, there’s a place for you. All grades welcome

Just a reminder for any grade 12 or 12+ students involved in the Health and Wellness SHSM that there will be a short meeting this Wednesday at lunch in room 507.

 

The University of Guelph presentation will begin at 10:45 am in the Lancer Commons today. A list of students attending has been posted in Pines Staff.

 

The Jr Girls Soccer team will practice after school until 4. Reminder to drop off any signed forms to the Phys. Ed office.

 

Thank you to everyone who came out for tennis tryouts the past week! The turnout has been fantastic! Players, be sure to have your rackets ready for additional tryouts today at 2:30pm and Wednesday at 4:00pm. Try your best to attend and if you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Evans or Mr. Biskey.

 

“Did you know that the rosary dates all the way back to the 13th century? It is the most popular prayer among Catholics! We’re bringing the rosary back in full force this year. Come pray with us every Wednesday in the chapel at the start of both lunches. All staff and students are invited to attend.”

 

The junior boys volleyball team headed to the university of Windsor yesterday to compete in their first tournament of the season. The boys finished first in their pool but lost a tough battle to North Star. The boys finished the day winning their consolation game against Holy Names. The boys are back in action this Friday afternoon at CKSS. A reminder boys that practice tonight is from 5:30-7.
