The main office will be closed at 3pm today, so please come and get your late bus passes before 3.
This week let's continue to focus on the powerful message from Sam Demma: "It's time to empty your backpack of the thoughts and opinions of everyone else."
Think about that for a second. How often do we carry around worries about what others think, doubts planted by someone else's words, or expectations that aren't even our own? It's like carrying extra weight that slows us down and keeps us from truly being ourselves and pursuing what matters to us.
This week, let's take on the "Empty Your Backpack Daily Challenge"! Each day, we'll focus on letting go of one thing that's weighing us down. Here's your challenge for today:
Identify one negative thought or self-doubt that you've been carrying around. Acknowledge it, and then consciously decide to let it go for today. Write it down and then symbolically "crumple it up" and toss it away.
Every year the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Women’s League gives a bursary of $500 to a grade 12 student who plans to continue their education in College or University. If you are a graduating student and you would like to be considered for this award, please pick up an application form in room 209 from Mme Culverwell.
Attention Future Co-op Students
Are you interested in earning 4 credits while completing your co-op? How about making $5000 while earning those credits? Want to improve your teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then a Canadian Army Reserves Co-op could be right for you.
There will be an information booth setup at UCC during both lunches on Wednesday May 14th. If you would like more information before then, please stop by the co-op office in the 500s.
The weather is heating up! With summer around the corner, Lancer Brew is introducing a new specialty order. For only $3.00, you can get a refreshing Strawberry Italian Soda. Still want something else to quench your thirst? Save a trip to Tim Hortons and order an Iced Coffee or Lemonade and get it delivered to you in person. Thank you to all students and staff who have supported the program so far. We will continue to sell right up until the end of the school year.
As everyone prepares to enjoy UCCs first EVER pow wow, make sure you remember to visit the United Alliance booth! You’ll have a chance to win a bracelet—all you have to do is learn a greeting in a new language, and you’ll walk away with a bracelet in the colors of a country’s flag.
The Senior Girls Soccer team battled to a hard-fought 0-0 tie against CKSS yesterday. The girls showed grit from start to finish, with strong offensive pressure and some great scoring opportunities. Special shoutout to our defensive line and keeper Rowan G., for holding it down and keeping the clean sheet! The team is back on the field this Thursday as they take on St. Pat’s in Sarnia. Good luck, girls!
Stop by our community hub in 901 on your lunch for drop in with Amanda. Hope to see you there!
The Senior Boys soccer team took down the CK hawks last night at home 3-1. Nate V., got the Lancers on the board with a nice finish. Brock L., scored a header from a corner kick and Jaydon H., came on the pitch and scored a poacher's finish with his first touch. The Lancer D stood strong all game, overcoming tornado like winds to keep it locked down at the back. The Lancers take on St. Pats this Thursday. Gooo Lancers!!!
