Lancer Brew is back for another great week. Our Life Skills students are serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and our festive new specialty , The Hazelnut Holiday Brew, a warm cup of coffee with a Nutella accent.

On Friday, 9 students represented UCC at the 20th annual University of Windsor Secondary School Programming Competition. The students competed against teams from across Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia regions. Students worked in teams of 3 to solve as many programming problems as they could in a 3 hours. Solving 4 problems, the 6th place award went to the team of William T.,, Zack C., and Victor C. Also solving 4 problems in a faster time, was the 5th place team of Cali S., Linkin S., and Issic A. Honorable mention goes to the team of Carlos M., Immanuel Charles and Josh K., who also solved 4 problems with a time just behind the other two teams. Congratulations to all of the coders who participated in this year's competition!
The Ursuline boys and girls curling teams kicked off their seasons on Friday against the McGregor Panthers. The girls team beat the panthers 11-2 and the boys team beat the Panthers 14-1. Both teams play again next Monday against St. Pat’s.
The senior boys basketball team captured the Chatham Sports Hall of fame tournament this past weekend. Gibson D., was the tournament MVP while John F., and Taye H., were tournament all stars. DJ P., was also electric in the open court and disruptive on the defensive end. The team travels to Sarnia tonight and then to CKSS on Wednesday for 2 league games before travelling to Windsor for a rematch of last year's OFSAA quarter final against Oakwood.

The senior girls volleyball team were in Burlington on Friday to compete in their second tournament of the season. After a slow start in pool play, the girls really battled and dominated all of their competition in the playoffs, not allowing their competitors to get above 18 points. The team handidly won the consolation championship. MVP of the tournament was Abi P., for her awesome sets and strong serving. The team heads to North Star on Friday to compete in their last tournament before Christmas break. Great job ladies!
A reminder to the boys hockey team of our brief meeting in the cafeteria right after announcements.
17 members of the wrestling squad travelled to St. Thomas on Saturday. 11 of them came home decorated with medals. Gold medals were locked up by Paige S., Emanuella C., Dean R., James G., Lydia M., Chris D., and Landyn B., Silver medals were snatched by Hunter H. and Lydia W. Bronze medals were taken down by Zavier R., and Anthony P.
