Attention all students who are interested in writing math contests this year. There will be a lunch-time information meeting held on Wednesday September 18th. At this meeting we will go through what math contests are available to write this year and how you can prepare for them! If you have first lunch, please come to room 305. If you have second lunch, please come to room 304. If you have any questions please reach out to Mr. Rivard.

 

Do you know a lot of random facts? Do you love learning trivia?

The Reach for the Top Competitive Trivia Team just might be for you. Come try it out on TUESDAY (that's right, Tuesday) after school from 2:30-3:30 in Room 605. No experience is necessary. Open to all grades and Grade 9s are especially welcome.

The senior boys volleyball team kicked off their season this past weekend playing in two University tournaments. On Friday the boys headed to the University of Windsor where they went undefeated and won the tournament. On Saturday, they played at the University of Guelph. After winning their pool, the boys were able to battle through the quarters and semis in order to make it to the finals, but unfortunately came up short. Players of the weekend were Isiah Dunlop, Ethan Anjema and Cole Williams.

 

Thanks to all those students who came out to the tennis tryouts over the past week. We appreciate the time and effort all of you have given. Check the list posted on the bulletin board outside the gym. Practices continue today at 2:45pm.

Interested in physiotherapy, nutrition, dentistry or being a lab technician after high school. Any Grade 11 or 12 students who are planning on participating in coop in any Health and Wellness field should consider joining the Specialist High Skills Major program. Forms to sign up are available in the Phys Ed office or contact Mr. Evans by email.

 

Games Club starting today in room 103. Get your late bus pass at the office before arriving.

The junior boys volleyball team headed to the University of Windsor yesterday to compete in their first tournament of the season. The boys battled hard all day, finishing first in their pool and sweeping sets in the semis to advance to the finals. The boys played some tough defence and took it to three sets, winning a hard fought battle against Villanova to win the championship. The team heads to CKSS tonight at 3:15 to kick off their first league games of the season. Excellent job boys - Mrs. Sanford and Mr. Teeuwen are so proud of you!

 

Just a friendly reminder the first official art club meeting will be this Monday coming up in room 920 after school. Make sure you have a late bus pass. Any questions please see Mrs. McEachran.

 

 

A reminder to those interested in joining the yearbook club: We meet today at 2:30 in room 808. If you are taking a late bus, be sure to get a bus pass in the main office. See you then!

 

The sign-up lists for the University of Windsor and Guelph are now closed. Grade 12 students that have signed up for today's presentation @ 1 pm for Windsor, please go to room 506. Attendance will be taken upon arrival.

 

Preseason wrestling strength and conditioning workouts will start on Monday Sept 23rd. Meet in 506 after school, bring running shoes and workout attire.
