Dear Parents/Guardians:

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board will conduct a school climate survey, from Monday, April 16th to Friday, May 25th.  School boards in Ontario are mandated by the Ministry of Education to conduct these surveys of students, staff and parents every two years.  They are an important tool in helping the Board to assess perceptions of school safety and in helping to build and sustain positive school environments.  They also assist the Board in making informed planning decisions about programs, which help promote safe and inclusive schools and good mental health.

A good response to the survey is vital to obtaining reliable data.  The surveys are anonymous and will take only a few minutes of your time.  There are three ways in which you can complete the survey between April 16th and May 25th.

Visit your school website – go to www.st-clair.net and click on “Schools” in the top menu bar; then “Visit our Schools” and select your school.  Finally, click on the School Climate Survey link on your school web page.

Or, you can go to the following link to complete the survey:

A third option is to pick up a paper copy at your school office, fill it out and hand the completed copy back in.

As an added incentive this year, the Board is offering $10 Tim Horton’s gift cards, which will be distributed to randomly selected survey participants.

I would encourage you to have your say and to assist us, as we work together to make our school environments the best they can be for the health and safety of all students and members of our staff.  The results will be published in a report, which will be posted to the Board’s public website next fall.

If you have any questions, please contact your school principal.

Sincerely,
Lisa Demers
Superintendent of Education
Our Principal
Christine Lambert, Principal

St. Peter Canisius School is foremost a school centered around our Catholic Faith. Here, students study an academic program that is child centered and faith oriented. Our staff and students are very caring.Together they raise thousands of dollars each year to support such programs as Jump Rope for Heart, food drives and mission projects. We celebrate the sacraments, devote time to daily prayer and attend church as a school once a month.

At St. Peter Canisius Catholic Elementary School, we are very proud of our school community in its 50th year of Catholic Education. This school offers many opportunities for our children to experience personal growth. We provide an engaging approach to education and work hard to instill a passion for learning. Our school emphasis is on reading and the love of books.

Parents count at St. Peter Canisius. We encourage their involvement by encouraging them to volunteer time and energy as well as asking them to work with the school to enable their child's personal best. Parent support is a large part of our strength.

We are a student-centered school that believes that every student can be successful. You can see this through our smiles, kind words and strong emphasis on quality Catholic education. At St. Peter Canisius, we work hard to keep "Students First!".

You Still Have Time to Register for Full Day Kindergarten Classes beginning September 2018. Classes are available in either English program or French Immersion. Contact your nearest Catholic School for more information; or visit our website at www.st-clair.net

Privacy Advisory

Our families and staff enjoy opportunities to share some of their activities with parents and the school community through teams, clubs and special events. Many of these are ‘memory making’ for families and as such, photographs and videos are often taken.

We ask that families exercise their discretion when taking photographs or videos at school events and consider the privacy of other students who may also be present in those pictures. We would appreciate if families not upload images of students other than their own to the Internet (e.g. YouTube or Facebook). Your cooperation with this request is appreciated.
