Welcome to St. Michael Catholic School in Ridgetown. The staff and I are pleased to assist in the education of your children and trust that a very positive working relationship between home and school will be created.

St. Michael Catholic School serves 288 students in a Junior Kindergarten to grade 8 setting. The experienced, energetic and dedicated staff teach your children to become life-long learners. We are committed to provide a true Catholic Education which will assist the students in our care in developing their spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual needs and talents.

In June of 2007, St. Michael’s Catholic School was recognized as a SCHOOL ON THE MOVE, an initiative of Ontario’s Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat. Schools on the Move are exciting places for children and teachers. St. Michael Catholic School has demonstrated an improvement in EQAO scores over time, the staff are able to articulate strategies used to improve student achievement as well as provide classroom evidence of student achievement of growth.

The close proximity of our Church enables our students to celebrate masses on a regular basis as well as be a centre of sacramental preparation.

Our School Council is also a vital part of our school community and we encourage all parents to get involved by attending the school council meetings and participating in the many events sponsored by them.

Communication with home is very important. Look for our school newsletter and classroom letters the first day of every month.
