Dear Parents:

I hope that you have had a wonderful start to your week.  I have included up to next Wednesday in the WAAG for this week as I wanted to draw your attention to the Christmas Concert and Book Fair.  At the bottom of the WAAG, I have included a link to some online Math Manipulatives which your child may find helpful when working on a problem at home.  Have fun investigating with them!

Have a wonderful week!

Mrs DeGurse

On-line Math Tools

Below you will find a link to a number chart as well as a number line.  These are both great resources when children are learning to practice skip counting (i.e. counting by 2’s, 3’s, 5’s, 10’s etc.)  and learning to multiply.

The resources below are great for practising patterning as well as building pictures with shapes.

  • Irish Miracle at St. Patrick’s High School (morning)

IRISH MIRACLE FOOD DRIVE (from the St. Patrick’s Catholic High School Website)

St. Patrick High School is once again ready to work its annual Irish Miracle!

This coming Saturday, December 2nd, over 500 Fighting Irish volunteers (including staff, students, and families) will mobilize to canvass every house in Sarnia, Point Edward and Brights Grove for non-perishable food items. In all, we anticipate collecting more than 6000 bags of food for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

To make this miracle happen, however, we still need your help:

First, we need as many students as possible to sign up as canvassers. Sign up takes place outside the cafeteria at all lunches this week. Students can sign up as teams. They can also sign up as individuals and be placed on a team.

Second, we need as many drivers as possible. Drivers can sign up by emailing joseph.palko@sccdsb.net. Otherwise, students can simply indicate that their parents/guardians will drive when they themselves sign up at lunch.

The day will begin with Mass in our school chapel at 7:30am for anyone who would like to pray for the success of Irish Miracle.

Parents and students are asked to be at St. Pat’s by no later than 8:15am so that they can receive routes and relevant instructions.

Once the collection is finished, volunteers are invited back to St. Pat’s for a free breakfast put on by the Knights of Columbus.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Thank-you for being a miracle worker,

Joseph Palko

Chaplaincy Leader

JUST A  REMINDER - Please keep an eye out for uniforms...

We greatly appreciate how Parent Council has helped us fundraising and purchasing new uniforms for the students to  wear when taking part in many of our extra curricular activities. We know our students are proud to wear these uniforms!

Unfortunately, some of the uniform tops were not returned at the end of last year so we are missing some of them. This year, we have one teacher in charge of distributing the uniforms and we have installed a lock on the uniform cabinet so we are hoping this will assist in stopping the uniforms from getting lost.

We would GREATLY appreciate it if you would look around your homes and return any uniforms - no questions asked! Thank you!
