Math Thinking - Estimation

Estimating is a skill which people use daily.  For example,

Do I have enough money in my wallet to buy these groceries?

Will this sandwich fit in this container?

Do I have enough water for my coffee or tea?

There is an excellent website http://www.estimation180.com/ which provides estimation activities to practice this skill.  Check it out and try one of the activities with your child.  Some of the activities even have videos which show the solution.
