2015-2016 Half Way Point

It is hard to believe, but we have reached the half way point of the 2015-2016 school year.  Final exams will mark our culminating activity of the first semester.  Students will be busy studying, completing final projects and wrapping up their courses.  All their hard work for the past 5 months will be completed.  February 5th will mark the kick off of semester two.  New teachers, new curriculum and new learning opportunities!  It is a great chance to start fresh again.

One of the highlights of the semester turnover is the UCC Open House.  An invitation is extended to all who want to visit us at 7pm on Wednesday, February 3rd.  We invite any parent and their child to join us in our theatre to learn about the exciting opportunities that awaits their child when they attend UCC in the fall of 2016.  Our brief but informative presentation will share an overview of the school, expectations and what we have to offer your child.  We will follow that with guided tours by our staff to help you see first-hand the fabulous things UCC has to offer.  We are excited to share this with you and look forward to having you join in the evening of February 3rd.  Watch the video below to get a glimpse.

So as January comes to a close we encourage you to look forward to all the goodness the new semester has to offer and the excitement the being part of UCC has to bring.

Christmas Break And Beyond!

UCC held numerous activities over the last few weeks in preparation for Christmas.  Some of the highlights included our Pedagape Christmas Dinner where we served 170 guests from our community.  It was a wonderful evening.  We celebrated the Holy Eucharist for each grade level.  Our Advent theme was Joy.  Student Council had lunch time activities for the students and the Link Crew shared a turkey dinner with the entire grade 9 class.  Tremendous efforts have been graciously given by so many – time, generosity, acts of charity and good will.  The Christmas spirit is alive and well here at UCC.

As we head into January, the end of the semester is in sight.  Exams are the end of the month so students and staff are in the process of preparation to wrap up courses and study.  Students have received their semester 2 timetables and have until January 15 to request changes.   It will be a busy month focusing on academics.

UCC will also hold our annual Grade 8 Open House on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7 pm.  Any grade 8 students and their parent or guardian are welcome to join us in our theatre at 7 pm for an information session and guided tours.  Please plan on being with us.

Enjoy a very Merry Christmas and joyful New Year.
