Yesterday the boys rugby team played 2 games in Sarnia. A HUGE congrats goes out to the boys for winning their first game since the team was resurrected last year. With try’s being made by Benedict E.-K., Nifemi K., Agnel S., & Owen M., UCC topped last years undefeated GLSS team 29-19! 10 min later we fought the Irish from St Pats. They have a strong team and beat us 25-0 but this will just make the boys more hungry for the win next Thursday when we battle the same teams on our home field. Way to go boys, you made the coaches and UCC lancer proud!

The Senior boys soccer team continued their hot start to the season with a 11-0 win over LCCVI Wednesday night in league play. They followed it up by winning the second division Championship at the Nike Niagara Cup in Welland yesterday. They defeated St Francis 1-0 on penalties, with a goal by Rees Evans and a big pk save by Jake Alward. They lost a tight game against the reigning Niagara Champions, St Michael’s. They went on to defeat AN Meyer 1-0 in the semis on a goal by Rees E., set up by Ethan Q. In the second division finals the boys beat Dennis M. 2-0 on two goals by Rees E. The entire team played stellar front to back and were locked in defensively. Rees E., won Team MVP, and the Lancers won the Nike Fair Play Award for the entire tournament. The boys take on their cross town rivals CK next Tuesday at home. Gooo Lancers!

A reminder for all those interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee to come to 808 during the beginning of your lunch to sign in. If you cannot make it, please email Dcn Raymond before lunch today to express your interest as we plan for upcoming tournaments.
