Hey UCC! Did you know that only 5% of dead batteries are properly recycled in Canada! That means 95% of them are thrown in the trash, where they reach landfills, leak toxic chemicals that get into our water, soil and food chains. That’s not good! The Environmental Club has set up a battery recycling station just outside the greenhouse. Bring in your dead batteries any time of the week and drop them off in the designated box. Donating your batteries will help prevent pollution and save energy. It’s 2018 people, let’s do our part! Donate your batteries. (2)

Junior Girls had a great weekend of basketball. The Girls went 2-1 this weekend. Beating Holy Cross and Waterloo Collegiate by more than 20 points playing amazing defense and limiting turnovers on the offensive end. The only loss came to a very talented and disciplined team from Orillia. The Girls fought back from a 14 point deficit to tie the game but a few three pointers from Orillia put it out of reach and eventually the girls lost by 12. Coaches are proud of the girls and all their efforts! (29)

The junior boys volleyball team traveled to Saunders on Friday in their final tournament for the season. The boys won an impressive 5 out of 6 sets in pool play before defeating St. Micheal's in the quarter finals. The team played a strong Beal team and were able to spit sets before eventually losing in the tie breaker. Come out and support the team today at 3 pm at CKSS as they compete in their final league play games before LKSSA semi finals. Good job boys! (29)
