Hey Lancers, Halloween is approaching! Thursday, October 31st will be an Orange and Black Day. If you are interested in wearing a costume you need to follow these expectations…Costumes need to be school appropriate, culturally sensitive and follow appropriate dress code standards. No masks. No weapons of any kind. No excessive gore. If you’re not sure your proposed costume is acceptable, speak to the Principal or a Vice Principal BEFORE the 31st. Have fun but remember you’re at school.

The Jr. Lancer football team got back into the win column last night with an impressive Semi-final playoff win 44-8 over CKSS. 3 Touchdowns were scored by Kurt Countryman - 2 on the ground and the 3rd catching a 15 yard pass delivered by Owen Malott-Bennet. Christian Burgoon hauled in a td pass as well from Mallot-Bennet while Koren Stewart and Brennan Dodman rumble in for major scores to finish off the Hawks. Nathan Hanson was 6 for 6 on point extra converts and was named special teams player of the game. Burgoon, Grellmore and Melique Williams lead the "D" in tackles. The Lancers will travel to Sarnia a week from Saturday to try and upset the first place St. Patrick Fighting Irish for the Championship title. Go Blue!

Mackenzie Beselaere poured in 10 points, while Diana Lucarelli and Elyse Sprik chipped in with 9 points last night against WDSS in Senior Girls Basketball action. The team played 3 quarters of solid basketball before losing to the Tartans. Please come out and support the team next Thursday in semi final action.

Congratulations to the Jr Girls Basketball team who defeated WDSS last night to clinch first place going 7-1 on the season. Steady pressure defence and unselfish passing allowed the girls to beat Wallaceburg by more than 20 points. The team travels to Toronto this weekend to play in the Nationals Jr Circuit vs the top prep schools from around Ontario followed by their semi next Thursday vs CK here at UCC. Best of luck to our JR Girls team!
