The wrestling team got off to a nice start Tuesday night in Sarnia. All four wrestlers medalled with the Crummer family all bringing home Silver medals - Wesley, Riley & Daniel. Kayla Smith won gold in her division.
Last night the Boys Hockey Team got in the win column with a 17-1 triumph over the McGregor Panthers. The defensive effort was again led by James Larsh between the pipes, earning his first career Lancers' win. The team defense was smothering as the Lancers didn't allow any room to move at Memorial. The offensive outburst was started by veteran Andrew Goulet's dazzling twine tickler in the first that went along with his 4 assists. Logan Houle's 4 goals and Brendan McKay's 3 goals were offensive highlights. Gavin Meriano, Ben Church and Kelton Jack all potted 2 goals, while Jeremy VandenBoorn, Chace Pretty and Casey Tellier chipped in singles. The boys move to 1-0-1 on the campaign and are back at it in the New Year. Go Lancers Go!
The girls hockey game against CK yesterday lived up to its hype. In a tightly contested hockey game, the girls were down 1-0 until Laryn Alexander, with her first goal as a UCC Lancer, tied it up with a beautiful pass from Ava Farrell. Abby Stonehouse put the Lancers up 2-1 with a breakaway feed from Ella DeMaeyer. A late goal by CK in the third made it a 2-2 draw. Great job Lancers! The Lady Lancers hit the ice next against WDSS in the new year!
