The Strings Are the Thing! are entered in a national competition with CBC Music, in association with MusiCounts, to search for Canada’s greatest music class.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to showcase their abilities in a national video competition,” says music teacher Jennifer Trinca.  “We’re all very excited!”

The string choir performs Life of the Party, in a video that has been entered in the competition.

Between October 26 and November 30, teachers and music program instructors across Canada were encouraged to upload a video of their classes performing selections chosen by CBC Music.  Submitting classes were asked to feature students up to 17 years old in an original performance.   The competition was designed to engage students in traditional music classes, music clubs and after-school programs across the country.
