Students in the St. Clair Catholic District School Board have once again been blessed by a generous donation of backpacks and school supplies from employees of the County of Lambton and residents of Marshall Gowland Manor.
The residents give freely of their time to help load the backpacks with supplies, which are donated by county employees.
The return to school can be very costly for families, as budgets are stretched to purchase shoes, clothing and other essentials. Sometimes it's not possible to purchase backpacks and supplies.
"Please know that it will be a tremendous blessing for these students to receive the gift of a brand new backpack, filled with all that they need to begin school alongside their classmates," says Deb Crawford, Director of Education.
"Your kindness will make a difference in the lives of many young people," says Mrs. Crawford.
The backpacks were shared among a number of principals, who will distribute them to students who need them.
