Students in Tricia Vanden Enden's Grade 3-4 class at St. Ursula Catholic School celebrated Positivity Week with new friends they made at the Grand Retirement Village.

With help from Tracy Havens at Crock-A-Doodle, a local art supply store, the students and seniors painted together.

"This visit was about more than painting," says Ms. Vanden Enden.  "It was about joy and friendship and learning compassion, patience and empathy.  Both the seniors and the students had a great time!"

The 12 Days of Positivity in Chatham-Kent began on September 23 and run through October 4.  Today was Seniors' Day.

Now in its fourth year, what began as a one day celebration has expanded to 12 days.  The goal is to encourage an optimistic attitude for people of all ages.
