Bishop Fabbro has called the faithful in the Diocese of London to a 'Year of Prayer,' which will begin on Pentecost Sunday, June 9, 2019 and run through Pentecost Sunday, May 31, 2020.
The year of prayer was a recommendation of Equipping the Saints: The Diocesan Commission on the Families of Parishes. During this period, our special prayer will be for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our local Church, as we seek to be a mission-oriented Church, which forms disciples of Jesus.
The formal opening of the Year of Prayer will be observed at all Masses of Pentecost throughout the diocese and details will be released over the course of the year, which provide materials to parishes and school boards within the diocese.
"The Holy Spirit is the principal agent of evangelization," says Bishop Fabbro. "Let us be united in prayer, then, for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at this moment in our diocesan life, that all will take to heart, in new ways, the Great Commission to spread the Gospel."
The St. Clair Catholic District School Board looks forward to ways in which it can support this 'Year of Prayer' as we trust in the Holy Spirit to continue to enliven the faithful in our diocese.
