Attention Gr.12’s applying to COLLEGE – Lambton College reps will be in our Lancer Commons on Friday Dec.8 from 10:30-11:30 to help finalize your college applications. As a bonus, if you apply to any Lambton College program, they will PAY your $125 application fee for you right on the spot! Be sure to check in with us on Friday!

Grade 12 students who have selected co-op for semester 2 are asked to check their email from the co-op department and complete the google form today.

Check out the great selection of dual credit courses available next semester. This is a great opportunity to earn a credit and see what a college campus is like. See Ms. Kearns or your guidance counselor for an application.

Student Council would like to remind everyone that this year’s senior semiformal will be at the Retro Suites on Thursday, December 21st from 6-9pm. The same rules apply as last year: grade 11s and 12s only, no guests from other schools, and student IDs will be requested at the doors. Tickets are available for purchase on School Cash Online, so be sure to get them while they last!

17 wrestlers went hunting for precious medals on Tuesday in Forest and they did not disappoint. 11 of them brought home some well deserved hardware. Golds were locked up by Dean R., Alyssa C., Morgan K.,, Abby C-B., and Emmanuella C. Silvers were pinned down by Matthew C. and Ben E., Zack C., Alvin S., Luke V., Kaija B. had some tough battles to earn bronze medals. Way to go to all the wrestlers that attended, you once again make UCC proud! Practice tonight in the main caf. Last chance for any football players that think they have what it takes to join the squad. Show up tonight ready for a workout.

Your Lancer girl’s hockey team took on St. Pats on Tuesday in Sarnia. The girls played an excellent first game to start off their season, coming out with a 5-1 win. Ava Farrell came out with the first goal for the Lancers this season, adding another one 2 minutes later. Fiona W. also had two goals, and Ari H., had one, Jacquelyn D., had two assists, and our goalie, Mya S., also got herself on the game sheet with an assist.

The girls take on the CK Hawks on Tuesday at 2:30 at Erickson arena. Come out and cheer on your Lancers!

Reach for the Top Practice is on tonight for both Juniors and Seniors in room 605. All are welcome.

 

Congratulations to the Junior Girls Volleyball team on their first successful league night. The girls dominated in the Lancer Dome walking away undefeated as they won all 4 matches beating Northern, Great Lakes, LCCVI, and St. Pats. Way to go Lancers!

 

The boy’s hockey team kicked off their season yesterday against Wallaceburg. The boys played a tremendous game outshooting their opponents and carrying the play throughout. The efforts however fell just short where we were defeated 2-1. The lone goal was a beauty scored by Aiden V. A great debut game by our goaltender Lucas D., and even in defeat we look forward to a strong season ahead.

The puzzle for the second day of "Xmas" has been posted! Come to the 3rd floor of the Xaver building, where the math classes are, to solve it and be entered into a draw for some delicious Christmas treats. Yesterday's winners were Egan J., and Georgia P. Come to the math office for your prize. If you missed yesterday's puzzle, you can still try it and be entered into our grand prize draw on the 12th day

The senior girl’s volleyball team headed to Great Lakes in Sarnia last night for their first league night of the season. The team finished 8-0, keeping St. Pat's, Northern, Great Lakes and LCCVI all under 17 points the entire night. MVP of the night was Taryn D. for her fantastic offence and defence, switching from right side, setter and middle throughout the night! Great job ladies!
