When we read the Gospels, we see a certain modus operandi on the part of Jesus - first he developed interpersonal relationships (i.e. friendships) with people, then he taught them about the Kingdom of God.
This dynamic in mind, the chaplaincy department dedicates every Monday to visiting students in their religion classes.
In the first place, these visits serve to strengthen relationships between students and chaplaincy.
In the second place, they create a trusting environment in which fruitful catechesis can take place.
For Grade 9s, our classroom Catechesis focuses on the theme "Why Christianity is Good News". And for our Grade 10-12s, the theme is "I AM. Priest. Prophet. King."
