THE BREAKFAST CLUB

Student Nutrition at St. Patrick’s (The Breakfast Club)

All students and parents are reminded that St. Patrick’s offers a COMPLETELY FREE student nutrition program, five days a week, from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. in the ILC (Room 134).  The “Breakfast Club” provides a healthy start to the day and encourages students to consider the importance of eating a healthy, balanced diet.   Each and every school morning we serve a variety of breakfast items including fresh fruit, yogurt and cheese, bagels and muffins and water or juice.  A special thanks goes to Tim Horton’s for their generous support.  The Breakfast Program is run by a large network of teacher volunteers.  The program is always looking for donations, so if any parents or guardians would like to contribute or know about any possible sources of outside funding, please contact Mr. Coene.

The Big Crunch

The St. Patrick's school community celebrated the Great Big Crunch together on Thursday October 24th.  At approximately 9:25 a.m., 1 350 apples were simultaneously "crunched" into by students and staff.  We celebrate the Great Big Crunch to promote, celebrate and enjoy healthy snacking.  It also gives us a chance to highlight the availability of local produce all year round.  Special thanks goes to Mr. Howson's Leadership class and Mr. Coene's Period 1 class who were instrumental in organizing a successful Crunch!!  (photo provided by Chase Kameka)
