Accessibility of School Buildings

With the enactment of the Ontarians with Disability Act 2001, the St. Clair Catholic District School Board is currently working with the Local public board to develop a template and plan as outlined in the act.

To date there have been three planning meetings to develop a process for planning and implementation of the Ontarians with Disability Act. Progress achieved to date includes:

  • A working group has been established
  • A re-commitment has been made to accessibility planning
  • Recent initiatives and successes in identifying, removing and preventing barriers in the coming year has been reviewed
  • Currently the group is working on identifying barriers that may be addressed in the coming year
  • A presentation of a template in draft format to be utilized by the Board was presented to S.E.A.C. members for input and suggestions

The Annual Accessibility Plan identifies the plan for improving accessibility for students and staff with Physical and Sensory Disabilities.
