Implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of RIM Blackberry devices for the integration of cell phones and PDA's for principals and designated CEC staff.
2.
Supporting Curriculum Services and schools in the standardization of the elementary report card process utilizing e-Teacher and the relational report card across the district.
3.
Facilitating a review of the effectiveness, utilization and support model of the current email systems used by administrative staff, teachers and students.
4.
Providing technical support for the implementation of SDS business application software for Accounting, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Attendance Management.
5.
Continuing the cyclical administrative hardware renewal plan with a focus on school and central file servers, and the consideration for the expansion of e-Vault capacity used for automated server backups across the district.
6.
Participating in the release of a joint RFP and the negotiation of a new contract for Wide Area Network infrastructure and internet access as part of the CKLAG public sector consortium.
7.
Facilitating the review and revision of the acceptable use policies for computers and communication technology used by staff.
8.
Facilitating the review and development of the job description for the revised role for Library Technicians.
9.
Expanding the utilization of the Synre Voice automated telephone messaging system to elementary schools.
10.
Continuing the training and support required for the enhancement and management of school and departmental websites.
11.
Supporting and coordinating the next phases of MS Office Training for school and CEC administrative staff.
12.
Expanding the use of video conferencing to facilitate training and professional development, meetings and presentations to the board.
13.
Developing clear expectations and an after hours support model and emergency response plan for Information Services staff.
14.
Facilitating the implementation of a data warehouse which will assist the organization in the areas of data management and reporting.
15.
Facilitating a review of the BESS internet filtering software and consideration of other solutions that may be more efficient or cost effective.
16. Piloting the use of an electronic Document Management system and providing training for implementation at the CEC.
