Dear Parents/Guardians:

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board will conduct a school climate survey, from Monday, April 16th to Friday, May 25th.  School boards in Ontario are mandated by the Ministry of Education to conduct these surveys of students, staff and parents every two years.  They are an important tool in helping the Board to assess perceptions of school safety and in helping to build and sustain positive school environments.  They also assist the Board in making informed planning decisions about programs, which help promote safe and inclusive schools and good mental health.

A good response to the survey is vital to obtaining reliable data.  The surveys are anonymous and will take only a few minutes of your time.  There are three ways in which you can complete the survey between April 16th and May 25th.

Visit your school website – go to www.st-clair.net and click on “Schools” in the top menu bar; then “Visit our Schools” and select your school.  Finally, click on the School Climate Survey link on your school web page.

Or, you can go to the following link to complete the survey:

A third option is to pick up a paper copy at your school office, fill it out and hand the completed copy back in.

As an added incentive this year, the Board is offering $10 Tim Horton’s gift cards, which will be distributed to randomly selected survey participants.

I would encourage you to have your say and to assist us, as we work together to make our school environments the best they can be for the health and safety of all students and members of our staff.  The results will be published in a report, which will be posted to the Board’s public website next fall.

If you have any questions, please contact your school principal.

Sincerely,
Lisa Demers
Superintendent of Education

Welcome to the Christ the King web page!

Renée Culverwell, Principal
Renée Culverwell, Principal

I am delighted to be your principal again this year. On behalf of the staff at Christ the King, I extend a warm welcome to our new families and our returning families. The staff and I look forward to working with you and our parish community partners to provide our students with the best Catholic educational experience!

This year promises to be filled with abundant learning, growing in faith and fun. Our commitment is to provide excellent Catholic Education, focusing on the development of our students’ spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual abilities. Please consider being part of our team in whatever way you can to help us achieve our goals.

Communication between home and school is so important for everyone’s success. Our school newsletter will be available on this website the first week of each month. It will contain key information about what is happening in and around our school. Each teacher will also send out a classroom newsletter once a month to update you on important happenings within the classroom as well as outlining the curriculum and faith focus for the month.

Effective communication runs both ways; so whenever you have a question, concern, or great idea, please contact the school, visit or email. Let’s work together to make Christ the King, the best learning place it can be!

I look forward to a wonderful year!!

Renée Culverwell

The boundary changes do not affect students currently attending Christ The King, Holy Family or St. Elizabeth Catholic schools.

You Still Have Time to Register for Full Day Kindergarten Classes beginning September 2018. Classes are available in either English program or French Immersion. Contact your nearest Catholic School for more information; or visit our website at www.st-clair.net

Privacy Advisory

Our families and staff enjoy opportunities to share some of their activities with parents and the school community through teams, clubs and special events. Many of these are ‘memory making’ for families and as such, photographs and videos are often taken.

We ask that families exercise their discretion when taking photographs or videos at school events and consider the privacy of other students who may also be present in those pictures. We would appreciate if families not upload images of students other than their own to the Internet (e.g. YouTube or Facebook). Your cooperation with this request is appreciated.
