  • May 7 – 12:30 p.m. – Mayor Darrin Canniff visits GPV to speak to Grade 3 students who are studying municipalities in Social Studies class.
  • May 9 – 5:00 p.m. – STEAM Night (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).  Parents and students will visit several different learning stations including slime making, create-your-own-herb garden, primary and junior math centres, coding, building with motors and how to build your own fog cannon.  There will also be a taco bar and photo gallery.

  • May 7 – 2:25 p.m. – Community Clean Up – As a school community we will gather to do a spring cleanup throughout the school yard and adjoining property.
  • May 8 – Throughout the day – The Tale of Three Trees – Grade 1A and 3 will perform a reader’s theatre in small groups for various classrooms.
  • May 9 – 12:45 p.m. – Living Rosary – Students from the Grade 2 and 7-8B classes will lead us in the living rosary, as we pray for the gift of Catholic education and living our lives as ‘joyful disciples.’
  • May 10 – Morning – The Wizard of Oz at the Imperial Theatre.  Some junior classes will attend the play to watch other students in their classes who are in the cast.

  • May 10 – We Walk for Water Event – Each class will be collecting coins with a goal of $25 per classroom that will go towards the building of water wells in third world countries.

  • May 7 – Morning – School Mass; Afternoon – Faith play day.  Students will rotate with their ‘learning buddies’ throughout various centres.  The afternoon will consist of fellowship with peers and participation in a variety of faith-based activities throughout the school.
  • May 10 – Praying the Living Rosary.  We will also present the Catholic Education Week video, which will be created with student and staff input throughout the week.

  • May 6 – We are hosting Drum Fit throughout the day.  Drum Fit is a cardio-based drumming program that combines physical activity with brain fitness, which results in the students having fun while they improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
