Catholic Education: Exploring Paths of Joy

During the week of May 3rd to 8th the St. Clair Catholic District School Board and its schools will celebrate the gift of Catholic education and its significant contribution to our communities, our province and our country.

The theme this year is Live Like Jesus: Exploring Paths of Joy

“Catholic Education Week offers each of us an opportunity to reflect on the tremendous role that our students and our schools in the life of our communities,” says Dan Parr, Director of Education. “The Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations challenge our students, through the fundamental values that are the very mission of Catholic education, to become life-long learners, caring family members and responsible citizens.”

“Our Catholic schools are places of growth,” says Carol Bryden, Chair of the Board. “Along with physical and academic growth, our students are also nurtured in their life of faith, helping them to grow closer to God. Through prayer and knowledge; and through living in a vibrant Catholic community, our students learn the importance of serving Christ through serving others.”

Special activities are planned at each of our schools to mark Catholic Education Week. Some activities celebrate our faith; some focus on learning excellence through literacy and numeracy events and celebrations of the arts; and others demonstrate our commitment to service through acts of charity.
