The lazy days of summer are a distant memory now as we enter into the third week of the 2019-2020 school year.  It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome families, students and staff back to Ursuline College Chatham.  I also extend a warm welcome to the 309 new grade 9 students who have joined our Lancer family.

As principal of UCC, I am looking forward to another exciting year.  As with any new school year there are many changes that occur over the summer months.  We have cleaned and fresh looking building, freshly painted halls, and a variety of small renovations.  We also have some staff changes with recent retirements.  One significant change that will be noticed is that UCC welcomes back Mrs. Mary Ann McCrae as the grade 9 and 10 Vice Principal.   It is wonderful having her experience back in our main office.

Our school life is busy again with all the events that come with a dynamic high school.

During September we will hold opening school mass, finalize student course selections, kicked off extra-curricular activities and began the task of ongoing assessment and evaluation.

For parents new to UCC, you are encouraged to have conversations with your children to remain knowledgeable as to how their year is progressing.  I urge you to keep in contact with teachers and administration should concerns arise.  Watch our school calendar for important dates to join us throughout the year.

It promises to be an exciting and rewarding school year.  Our dedicated staff is committed to providing high standards of academic achievement within a faith based Catholic education.

Faith, Hope, and Charity are our school motto.  During your child’s years at UCC we aim to foster those virtues while developing life-long learners.  Thank you for choosing Catholic education and entrusting your child to our care.  We want your child’s experience and yours as parent and guardian to be a fulfilling experience.

Lancer Loud.  Lancer Proud!
