The Senior Boys Football team won their Red Feather home opener yesterday, 44-1, in front of a standing room only crowd. Lucas Doyle's 3 TDs led the way for the Lancers, while Deryck Harvieux, Nakoma Scott, and Sebastian Stubberfield chipped in with TDs of their own. Erik Kloostra and Ethan Lutz led the 'Blue Steel Curtain' defense with 8 tackles apiece, and Cam Creechan had 2 sacks. The Boys are back at it next Friday to renew the rivalry with Wallaceburg. Trivia Question: When was the last time that both the Jr. boys football team and the sr. boys football team combined for 79 points on offence and gave up only 2 points on the same day? The answer is yesterday. The jr. summary: Darion Hadden threw 2 early first quarter touchdown passes to Cody Boulley and Tyler Shumanski. Hadden ran another one in during the 2nd quarter while Shumanski picked up 2 more including a dramatic punt return touchdown. Before the Brennan Cardinals knew it they were trailing 35 -0 by half time. Dante Handsor lead the way on defense with 8 tackles 3 quarterback sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. Handsor was a one man wrecking crew. The Jr.s head to Villanova next Wednesday. Go Blue! (27)
